How
easy is it to install an Endless Pool?
In most cases, anyone who can build a deck, pour a
concrete slab, or build an enclosure is capable of
installing the Endless Pool. Those who install your
pool do not need to be pool professionals. The Endless
Pool is shipped in kit form for bolt-together assembly
by two reasonably handy persons following the step-by-step
videos provided. Some homeowners do it themselves,
but most hire a contractor. Because Endless Pools
are sold factory direct, most pool dealers do not
want to become involved with equipment they do not
sell, so it is probably better to work with a local
carpenter or contractor than with a pool dealer. We
also have a network of Factory Trained Installers who are available to install your pool. For more details
call our design representatives at 800-732-8660. Back

Where
can I install an Endless Pool?
The Endless Pool can be installed inside, outside, above, partially or fully in-ground. Because the pool is shipped in kit form, it can even be installed in an existing room, like a basement or garage. Most pools are installed indoors for year-round exercise. However, in warmer climates the pool is often installed in the backyard, or on a patio or deck. Back

Can I try a Pool before I buy?
Yes. Although our pools are sold factory direct worldwide, we have a network of demonstrator pools where you can try an Endless Pool. If you would like to take a swim please contact our design department at 800-732-8660. Back

How much does it cost to operate?
The operating costs are about the same as for a hot
tub or Jacuzzi. Costs can be controlled by utilizing
the appropriate level of insulation for your geographic
location, maintaining an ambient temperature in the
pool room, and keeping the pool covered when not in use,
etc.

What
maintenance is required?
Unlike a traditional pool, an Endless Pool requires very little maintenance, on average a few minutes each week to test the water and add some Clorox bleach. Also the Endless Pool cartridge filter needs
to be replaced every three to six months, depending upon pool use.
The copper/silver cartridges used to kill bacteria and algae, also need to be replaced every three to six months. To help customers we provide a separate video on pool maintenance with every pool. Back

What
about humidity for indoor installations?
Humidity is always a concern when you bring a body
of water indoors. Because the Endless Pool is small
in size, it is easy to control humidity by keeping
the pool covered when not in use. A floating blanket
which can control about 90% of the humidity is included
as standard equipment. The optional Retractable Security
Cover can control 100% of the humidity when in place. Click Here for more on humidity. Back to FAQs

Does
the Endless Pool really work?
It really works! You really can swim or exercise in
place against a current set at a speed you select,
for as long as you like. No more trips to a membership
pool. Imagine the convenience of being able to swim
in the privacy, comfort and safety of your home anytime
day or night. Because the current holds you in place,
you never reach the end of your Endless Pool. This
unique swim-in-place feature allows the Endless Pool
to be much smaller than a conventional pool, while
providing all of the benefits of a full-size pool.
The Endless Pool is so carefree it even maintains
your favorite water temperature automatically! Back
to FAQs
Is
it difficult to keep the pool clean?
The Endless Pool uses a new copper/silver purifier
to help sanitize the pool water. This system automatically
adds ions to the water to inhibit bacteria growth
and copper ions to kill algae. You must still use
a small amount of chlorine to oxidize the contaminants.
In most installations, a cup or less of unscented
Clorox bleach each day is sufficient. This amount
of chlorine is substantially less than the amount
needed in a typical chlorinated pool. Back
to FAQs
How
fast is the current?
The current can go as slow or as fast as you want.
At top speed, the equivalent swim would be a mile
without turns in less than 20 minutes. We should emphasize
that the Endless Pool is primarily a constant swimming
machine, not a sprint machine. Because you never reach
the end of an Endless Pool and you are swimming against
a current, the swim tends to be "more concentrated"
than in still water because you swim at a constant
pace. Back
to FAQs
How
often do I have to change the pool water?
The Endless Pool is filled with a garden hose. The
water is changed every one to two years, depending
upon use. Back

Is
there architect and designer support from Endless
Pools?
Architects, professional designers and engineers on
the staff of Endless Pools, Inc. are available at
no charge to review sketches of proposed Endless Pool
sites. Back

Can I do water aerobics?
Yes, the standard Endless Pool is ideal for waist deep
aquatic exercise in still water, or against a gentle
current that can go as slow or as fast as you want.
Our optional deeper section is suitable for non-swimming
vertically oriented water workouts. This deeper portion
can be any depth you want customized to your requirements
to provide chest-deep or shoulder-deep water for water
walking and aqua aerobics, or even depths up to six
feet for running against the current in a wet vest. Back
to FAQs
How
does the Endless Pool compare to a lap pool?
Personal lap pools are usually one lane wide, about
3'-6' deep and usually require a 50' to 75' length
to satisfy most serious swimmers. The Endless Pool
takes up much less space, is simpler to install (particularly
indoors), easier to maintain and more economical to
run than a traditional lap pool. Back to FAQs
Can
two people swim at the same time?
Our Dual Propulsion Endless Pool comes with two independently controlled variable speed swim currents which enables two
people to swim side by side at the same time. Back
to FAQs
Is
it hard to swim in the Endless Pool?
It usually takes only a few seconds to learn how to
swim "against the current." Most first-time swimmers
are so thrilled by seeing how easy it is that they
pop up and say with a big smile, "this thing really
works!" Back
to FAQs
What
sizes are available?
The size of the Endless Pool Standard System is 8'
wide and 15' long. The pool stands 42" high.
The water depth in the Standard System is 39",
which is the depth of most lap pools. Because the
Endless Pool has a modular design (and is not tied
to a mold) we can provide custom sizes to make your
pool up to three (3) feet wider, up to two (2) feet
shorter, or two (2) feet longer than the Standard
System.

How
does the swim current operate?
The swim current is generated by a 16" propeller inside
a protective acrylic case that is driven by a hydraulic
motor. There is no electric connection at the pool
site. The current is totally adjustable in speed from
zero to a racer's pace. The current
goes down the center of the pool, enters a grill in
the underwater back bench, and circulates to the front
of the pool inside the two side benches. In this way
the Endless Pool establishes a continuous loop of
water that the swimmer controls. The Endless Pool
current is much superior to currents generated by
jets or paddle wheels. The Endless Pool propulsion
unit can move a huge amount of water - up to 5,000
gallons a minute - under low pressure from a large
opening (21"x18") producing a river-like current. Back
to FAQs
Can I use it as a hot tub?
The Endless Pool can be fitted with optional jets to
create a spa-like environment. The Endless Pool is primarily
intended for water exercises and fun including swimming, aqua-aerobics,
and aquatic therapy. It is not generally advisable to
exercise in water that is warmer than 90°F.
Back
to FAQs
How deep is the pool?
The depth of the water in our standard pool is 39",
which is the standard depth of a lap pool. This depth
is sufficient for most swimming activities. If you want
a deeper pool for standup exercises-like aqua aerobics
or wet-vest running-we can tailor-make the pool to any
depth you want up to six feet. For
more information on planning a deeper pool please click

What
is the minimum room size needed to install an Endless
Pool?
Since the Endless Pool can be installed in a corner
of a room, access is normally required only at one
side and one end. The minimum clearance for at least
one side is about four feet and for one end is about
three feet. This would mean that a minimum room size
for a standard 8' x 15' pool would be about 12' x
18'. The standard pool, however, can be made 1' or
2' shorter for a custom 8' x 13' pool. This shorter
custom pool could fit comfortably in a space that
was only 12' x 16'. Back
to FAQs
What is the pool made of?
The walls of the Endless Pool are made of six 14-gauge
hot-dipped galvanized steel panels that bolt together
to form a rectangle. Inside the steel rectangle goes
a heavy-duty vinyl liner that is 50% thicker than the
industry standard. The Endless Pool comes with a 10
year structural warranty. The interior components, including
the system that generates the swim current and the underwater
perimeter benches, are made from the highest quality thermoformed acrylic (available in two colors). Back
to FAQs
Can
I get trapped in the current?
The current of the Endless Pool is confined to the
center of the pool. If you want to get out of the
current, all you have to do is take one step sideways
out of the current into calm water. The water on the
sides of the pool is calm enough for others to sit
comfortably on underwater perimeter benches without
getting "washed away" even when the current in the
middle of the pool is at full speed. Back
to FAQs
What
if I relocate? Can I take my Endless Pool with me?
Yes, you can take your Endless Pool with you. Since
the Endless Pool is shipped in kit form for bolt-together
assembly on site, it can be unbolted and relocated
to a new site. Each time the pool is relocated, there
are some parts and components that may have to be
replaced. The total cost of these replacement parts
should be about $500 each time the Endless Pool is
moved. Back
