Accessibility to Your Endless Pool
Bookmark This Page | Send To A Friend
A partially in-ground swimming pool is most accessible because
the pool's top edge is located at a height that makes
it comfortable for you to sit down and then swing your
legs in. The underwater benches serve as a step into
and out of the pool.
 |
Above-ground. The distance from the floor to the top of the
pool's steel wall is 42", plus another 2"
or more for the coping material on top of the
wall. A step can be constructed outside the pool
to increase accessibility. |
 |
Partially
In-ground, bench-height edge. The Endless
Pool's exterior walls extend 18" to 24"
above the floor. This makes it possible to sit down
on the coping as if it were a bench. This effect
may be created without excavation by building decking
around the pool, if ceiling height permits. |
 |
In-ground. The in-ground pool, with pool coping flush with the
floor, requires the swimmer to sit on the floor
when entering the pool. If you find this type of
pool difficult to enter, you may wish to add the
corner step or full-depth stair option plus a hand
rail or grab bar. |
The distance from the pool top (including coping)
to the underwater bench is about 29". If this distance
is too far, our full-depth stair or the optional corner
step may be appropriate.
Check ou the videos on the Standard-Depth page which also hightlight some accessibility issues.

a hand rail, spa rail and grab bars, to make access
easier for anyone. For those who need greater assistance,
we can provide the name of a manufacturer who makes
a hydraulic lift that is powered by a garden hose.
