Where Can I put my Endless Pools Lap Pool?

When it comes to installing an Endless
Pool, the possibilities are limitless. This
section will give you an overview of specifications
for your pool and other things to consider when thinking
about where to install it.
An Endless Pool can fit virtually anywhere, inside
or out. The first step is to review the following specifications
and think about the space in your home that could best
accommodate your pool.
Endless Pool Specifications:
• Standard Swimming Area: 7' wide x 14' long x 39" deep.
• Standard Exterior Dimensions:
8'1" wide x 15'1" long x 42" high (without
finishing materials).
• Site Requirements: A solid,
level floor or concrete pad, capable of supporting 200
lbs./sq. ft. Most ground-floor rooms can support this
weight without difficulty. The vast majority of Endless
Pools are installed in ground-level spaces. (Check out
this exception to the ground-floor rule, built over a garage in Seattle.)
• Pool equipment: Your room
or outdoor space needs to be 1 to 3 feet greater than
the pool's exterior dimensions to allow for access to
the pool and its equipment. The Water Quality System
(which filters, heats and sanitizes the water) and Hydraulic
Power Unit (which creates the swim current) can be contained
near the pool or placed up to 75 feet away.
Other considerations:
• Installation Options: The
pool can be installed above-ground, partially in-ground,
or completely in-ground.
• Climate: In warm locations,
an Endless Pool can be situated indoors or outdoors.
In colder climates, the majority of our pools are installed
indoors to allow for year-round exercise. However, some
owners have super-insulated their pools to swim outdoors
year-round, even in snow!
• Custom Size: How will you
use your pool? If you'd like to have more than one person
exercising at a time, you may want to order a pool that is
1 or 2 feet larger in length and/or width. If you have
limited space, you may choose a pool that is 1 or 2
feet shorter in length.
• Optional Deep Area: You can
also request a custom deep area for running, aqua aerobics
and other standing activities. While it is possible
to build a sufficiently strong platform to support a
deep area of 13 inches or less, most of our pool owners
choose to excavate to accommodate a deep area.
• Existing or New Space: Installing
a pool in an existing space, especially in a garage
or basement, can be a cost-saving option. A new space
provides unlimited design options for your pool.
• Humidity: With a properly
used cover, very little humidity can escape from an
Endless Pool. The standard floating blanket, included
with your Endless Pool, controls about 90 percent of
the humidity when the pool is covered. By installing
the optional manual or automatic retractable
security cover, you can prevent 100 percent
of the humidity when the pool is covered. If the pool
is uncovered less than one hour a day, a simple room
dehumidifier, available in most department stores, or
a window vent fan can generally control moisture. If
the pool is open for many hours a day, often the case
in commercial settings, a commercial-grade dehumidification
system may be necessary.
